07.29.04 (10:13 pm) [edit]
Hello hello hello
Friday is here!! Thank goodness!! I love the weekend. Of course, I am working both Saturday and Sunday! But at least I get to see my parents and Avondale!!! Good stuff. And then I have good "bonding" time with Dad on the train back. Yipee!!!
Nothing noteworthy to say but I do wonder what you think on theses issues:
Q: What is the difference between dating and courting?
Q: Should abortion be legal?
Q: Why does getting mail get us so excited?
Q: What are some creative ways to discuss research? (reference to my Utilising Research tutorial in a few weeks - help, SOS, mayday etc. etc.)
Q: Are you for or against gobalisation? and why?
Catch ya later

And the day after Wednesday, which was Thursday - Suprise suprise!!!
07.29.04 (5:15 am) [edit]
Howdy all,
Well, continued having a great sleep last night or early this morning - depending on how you look at it :)
Had clinical practise from 9am to 4pm - so very crazyly long. Insane. We got to practise sponge baths and preparing room for patients returning from operations etc. I found it really interesting. But you know, crazy things turn crazy people on. :D
And then I rushed down to Hornsby to catch up with my mum. Mum and Dad had been in Sydney for the past two days but in different parts researching for Dad's doctrine. Anyway so Mum and I got together and I told her about everything that was up in my life - about 1 and 1/2 hours of chatting over hot drinks. Ahh, I miss that when she is back in PNG. And then Dad turned up and found out that we hadn't gone shopping yet so he continued on home and we started shopping. Now, you wouldn't believe that it would make me so excited to buy a tin opener and a power board and cutlery that were NOT plastic (I have been a bit poor of late so I had kept all my plastic cutlery from Avondale cafe. Yes, sad, I know). Shopping was a huge buzz. It was great. Of course, it took tons ages longer than I first thought. We didn't get back to the Res till 9:15pm.
And as soon I got back Kylie Anne and Kelly both told me to get on the phone as Brandon was there. How exciting. I even got Mum to talk to him. Poor guys. Didn't know what hit them. And then I had to leave my friends to the mercy of my mum (or my mum to the mercy of my friends) while I talked to Brandon. We talked to ages and ages. It was so good. Then the phone cut out but it was good timing as I should have been heading for bed and it was only then that I noticed a sign saying that people who are on the phone after 10:30pm should be extra quiet for those girls who have to get up at 6am for work. And I don't think I am exactly quiet on the phone and it was just turning 10:30pm. Talk about good timing. :D:D
Well, I should go. I need sleep and I have a longish weekend ahead. Work and socialising and hanging with folks and maybe even study. Maybe.
Catch ya all later

Crazy Wednesday!!!
07.28.04 (9:07 am) [edit]
Ok, I'm back!!
Today I got to see a good old friend of mine from Avondale - Dr Drewer! And when he left I just wanted to go with him back to Avondale.
But I did have 5hrs with him this morning on PHYSICS!!! My goodness me!! I wasn't too sad when we finished that topic. Yuck!!
And then I still had 2 more hours on how to do paperwork for patients you want surgery. I mean, really? Does paperwork really need to be done? I doesn't really matter does it? (Wouldn't you just love having me as a nurse?)
Then we had an afternoon tea with the big wigs of the SAH to welcome us. They had really really cool SAH serviettes. Kel and I are collecting everything with the SAH symbol on it. We want to start up SAH walls in our rooms. She even has 4 mugs already!!!! 8)
Then I crashed!!! It was so good. I have been staying up so late lately. Like 1am!! And getting up at 7am!! And I have worked the past 2 weekends where I have to get up at 6:15am!! And travel to and from Cooranbong. My goodness! Ok, sorry, I shouldn't complain. I should just hold it all in until I go red. Ok, that doesn't work!! But can you believe my crazy lifestyle? i just can't at all!
So anyway, I went to bed and sleep for 7 hours straight. Beautiful. Got up and talked to Kel for 4 hours. Beautiful again and now I am talked to all those wonderful people who are up at 3am (In after words I am writing my blog as everyone who would normally listen is asleep ZZZZZ).
I am looking for work around Wahroonga in case anyone is interested. Hospital, EstherSummerville, that sort of thing. Don't know when I am going to fit it all in but you know, it will work out.
I also saw Lisa Fletcher from Avondale today. She is heading off to Africa on Monday. I am so excited for her. She is going to be spending Christmas in Africa. That surely is something to tell the grandkiddies about. She is bringing me back a postcard and she will take tons and tons of photos for everyone to check out when she gets back. Cool, huh?
Have you ever thought of going overseas for volunteer service? I thought about Africa but at the moment I like the idea of India. Hey, maybe I will do both! :D
And I also got to chat online with my friend Brandon who is in America last night. How very cool!! That is one of the reasons why I was up so late last night.
Well, talking about sleep, I really should go and sleep for another 7hrs. Just to ensure i do not continue being the cranky SharonA that I have been lately. I really don't know how the girls I live with put up with me. Sorry, ladies!!
Over and out!!

Offical Welcome!!
07.27.04 (5:41 am) [edit]
Now that I have offically invited everyone in my email address book I need to offically welcome all who choose to view my blog so .... WELCOME ONE AND ALL!!!!
I hope I become computer equipped to entertain you with my blog and keep you intereested in my kinda dull, I mean, completely fun filled life.
Comments are welcome. I would tell you how but I don't know. It is a completely new learning experience for me. I hope to learn one new thing a day and just to cover myself in case I am not learning anything in classes (which go from 8am to 4 or 5pm) I am forcing myself to learn about computers. :)
Ok, so welcome!!!!

My mummy and daddy are visiting me. Yipee!!!
07.27.04 (4:28 am) [edit]
Ok, well, I just know that everyone must be waiting with baited breath to hear what I have to say next. (regardless of the fact that I have yet to offically tell people about my blog - I can still come up with stuff as I am waiting with baited breath, after all it is all about ME!! - no not really).
The big news is that my folks are down from PNG for two weeks. I don't get to see them much as I am in Sydney and they are in Cooranbong but still, it is pretty good.
I am coming up with more and more good things about Wahroonga. I think I can survive here afterall. Goodbye Avondale (insert tear).
Question for the day: What is one of the greatest movies in the world and why? (I thought the greatest would be too hard) :)

Poor Big Red Rus!!!
07.25.04 (10:24 pm) [edit]
|
Well, the most adrenaline pumping moment of the past 24hrs was getting a phone call from Russell Harder last night as he was stuck at Hornsby station. He had been driving from .... somewhere ... to Cooranbong and he was going to be at a outdoor rec thing at 8am this morning. And he had only been back in the country (from NZ) for 25hrs with minimum amount of sleep. Anyway, his car broke down at Hornsby and he took it the mechanic. But it was late so they were going to look at it in the morning. It was only after the mechanic had locked up the car and gone home when Rus realised that he had locked his wallet in the car and he was stranded at Hornsby. So he rang ME!! I hitched a ride with one of my class mates (Leith) to Hornsby and got him some money to go home. Poor guy!!! Anyway, wasn't that interesting????

Yellow!!!!
07.25.04 (9:48 pm) [edit]
Well, my first post on deep and meaningful stuff. Well, umm .... well .... dude!.... umm, ok, well, you can tell I don't have much deep and meaning stuff up my sleeve at the moment?
Ok, the question for the day is.......
Well, why are sharps containers in hospitals yellow? (I mean, really, what did you expect from a nurse stuck at Wahroonga anyway?)

welcome all
07.25.04 (9:44 pm) [edit]
My blog is up and running. I am becoming more computer experienced. Just barely, anyway!!
The purpose of this blog is to satisfy my friend Kelly's idea that since I always have something to say, so as to save everyon'es ears....i can blab on here!!! (By the way, Kel wrote the last half of that sentence. She just doesn't want to be the only nurse she knows with a blog)So to be cool, I made one too. Pretty sad, huh?
So why don't you make one too? Just to be cool! Or if you already do spread the word. I mean, i don't really know if this is any good but if I am going to "enjoy" a crap thing then well, misery loves company. So join me.
