Ok, well walking across Syndey seems so long ago now. :)
What have I been up to? Well, I have started Clinical - really enjoyed the Bowel Ward (you know, enemas and male catheterisation etc. etc.) Tons of fun. And now I am on the Cancer Ward. I dont' have any problems with the patients - it is more the nurses. They all seem to be going through their mid life crisis or menapause or something because they are quite nasty. Ah, well, got to walk with all kinds, I guess? :)
Went up to Avondale last weekend - house sat with Kristin. Feel bad for the house - we nearly destroyed. Internet down, power down, washing machine overflowed etc. etc. etc. Ah, but it was fun. :)
Went to Handel's Messiah on Friday. Beautiful as ever :)
Caught with a bunch of friends and even meet some new ones. Watched TV and had a bit of a movie night. The toy boys were there but it just wasn't the same with out Matron. :(
Been watching some movies - Mona Lisa Smile, Radio, Life or something life it. Nothing too heavy but still a feel good moive. Radio is a real cute one :)
Ok, well my lunch break is almost over so I must say bye. Stay happy and see ya next time,
Sharona

THE FANASTIC CITY!!!
03.20.05 (2:55 pm) [edit]

Ok, well, I just had a great day in Sydney yesterday.
I walked across the Bridge around 8am, visited the rocks and nurses walk, stopped at Circular Quay, went around to the Opera House and the Botanical Gardens, caught a train to Central, went to Paddy's Markets, watched Hitch, went shopping, got a massage, caught the train back home, got off at a different train station and walked about 1hr to get home. I loved the entire day. It was fanastic :)
I will do it again one day. It was great to have a discman with me and listen to music all day and just walk tons (I love walking) and writing in my diary at every stop and just commenting on how beautiful everything is. It was so great to get out and be somewhere different. Ah, it was fanasitc.
And then to top off a great day, I got to go to Hillsong on Sunday night which was tons of fun. I quite enjoyed the sermon this time
Anyway, I just had to share,
God bless,
Sharona

YES!!! I love my boss!!

Ok, good news - I am not working all those crazy hours. Ok, see, what happened was: my boss arranged for the afternoon shifts and another top dog arranged the morning shifts and either was aware of the fact I had so much overtime and double shifts etc. And me being me thought I could do it all and not worry - I mean, I am eager for the work and they want me to work so why not, huh? Yeah, I know ... insane.
So, when I turned up for my afternoon shift this afternoon, my boss happened to see me and ask how I was and I said I was a bit tired as I had just done a morning shift and I was doing another one tomorrow morning. To which she asked more about what I was doing etc. And then she jsut said, go home. You can't do that - you need a rest. These shifts aren't urgent (buddy shifts - still learning the job kinda thing). We will rearrange them for another time and the lodge needs you more than the nursing home so keep doing the morning shiftts in the lodge.
Well, I know I always had the opportunity to tell one of my boss's that I just couldn't do it but I didn't take it. And in a strange way, I was so relieved when my boss told me to go home. I didn't really want to work all that much - I just have a problem with setting limits etc.
Ah, it is nice to know that my boss cares :)
Bad news - if I had known I wasn't going to be working tonight I would have tried to get tickets to Meet the Music with Kel, Taylor and Casey. But, no, Matron got to enjoy the Toy Boys all to herself. Man, so annoying :)
I really enjoy working in the lodge - the residents are all with it and all pretty cooperative and it isn't overly hard work. Of course, I may say something different tomorrow - A girl is going to supervise me do the shift as if she wasn't there - I can ask for help but I have to basically take the floor - literally - over thirty residents here I come. Wish me luck :)
And, I would have to say that is about it. :) Hope everything is happy in your life. :)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!! This is crazy!!!!!! Can life get any busier?
I just spend an action packed weekend up at Avondale - got back Monday afternoon. Today (my only real day off) I did laundry (tons and tons of it), grocery shopping (tons and tons of it), did some paperwork and ran errands. DUDE!! My day off my foot.
Tomorrow and Thursday I have a shift from 6:30am to 1pm and then another one at 2:45pm to 9:15pm. And then Friday I am working from 6:30am to 3pm. DUDE!!! Talk about insane stuff. :) Two double shifts in a row with another shift on top. Insane. But I guess I have to do it to fully understand why people don't do it. :)
Hopefully will get to visit Avondale for First Church on Friday but I hope to spend the weekend at the SAN (me time etc.)
Anyway, just wanted to exclaim to the world that I think I am insane.
Have a great day,
Sharona

My life!!

Well, super tired from the Melbourne I started my week already drained. :(
It was very busy this week - I had tons of assignments, classes, work, STORMCO meeting, lab, hanging with friends and watching Million Dollar Baby, interview, Maccas, and coming up to Avondale.
I am so glad that next week I don't have anything due or any classes. Our clinical block starts and my own individual timetable doesn't start till the week after. So even though I had some real late nights staying up and trying to finish assignments that I had jsut started that day and were due the next day, I am so glad I did it. Nothing due this week then. :D
I will most likely stay at Avondale for a while but I have work etc. so I should get back to the SAN. But I will be up next week for Chris' birthday. :D
Sorry this blog is so short but it 1am and I have already been in the pool for ages at our Dive IN Movie - Shark's Tale. So I must go and catch some shut eye.

My crazy life ...

Ok, well I got back from my Melbourne trip totally wasted. Ah, but I did enjoy it - it was great to see everyone again even if it was for a very short amount of time. The wedding was great too - my cousin looked so beautiful and they were both clearly in love. Just beautiful. Of course, starting at 7 in the morning wasn't my idea of fun but I got over it :D
Bussing there and back was also an interesting experience but ya know, it doesn't make it a roadtrip unless you go by road lol. Yeah, I know, I am just trying to look on the bright side of it. :D
I went for an interview the other day which an Demoninational Employment Scholarship interview and I think it went quite well - you know, 90% of it went well; the other 10% could have been improved on vastly :D Find out on Friday
I have been up late etc. working on this stupid antenatal care essay that was due today - handed it in 5mins before it was due. Talk about cutting it fine. Ah, but oh well, it is done now.
I am really tired so I will catch u later. Hope everything is cool in your life.

Such a busy life

Hey all,
Well, life is so crazy and busy. As I said on the phone to Brandon the other day; I have been doing everything and nothing. Strange how that works. I don't even know if it makes sense or not but anyway ... let me try just once ... The school of nursing has been giving us a lot of days off so you would think that I would have tons of time spare but no!!! Melbourne planning, wedding present shoping (thankfully that went well!), phone calls to Brandon, STORMCO stuff, meetings with various people, work stuff, etc. etc. etc. and the list could go on.
And my room looks like an atomic bomb just hit it. Dude!!! And I hate that feeling. I have clean and dirty laundry everywhere, subjects stuff everywhere, stuff half packed for Melbourne etc.
So, since I have a 2hr lunch break I think I will go and clean my room. Catch ya later,
Sharona
